Pirkei Avot Challenge!

We would like to present the Pirkei Avot Challenge! Everyone who would like to participate can choose a mishna in Pirkei Avot that they feel best represents them. Then, present the mishna in the most creative way you can! Draw, paint, act out in pictures or a video, or anything else you can think of giving over the mishna! Everyone who participates will receive a prize, and for every mishna that you do, another ticket in your name will be entered into the grand prize raffle! There will be different prize brackets for each age group. Sign up on the Google Doc below. You may sign up for a mishna even if it is already taken!

Email submissions to YouthDirector@Shomrei-Torah.org so we can publish them in a special Shavuot pamphlet!

Youth Directors

Introducing Our New Youth Directors: Sara and Dovi Grosser

Sara and Dovi Grosser are extremely excited about becoming the new Youth Directors at Shomrei Torah.  Sara grew up in Teaneck, and after learning in seminary in Israel, received her degree from Stern. She then went on to receive her RN, and works as a labor and delivery nurse. Dovi grew up in Cedarhurst, and after attending Yeshiva in Israel, went on to learn and get his degree at Lander College. After working for a few years in nursing home administration, Dovi returned back to school to pursue a career in dentistry. He is expecting to attend Dental School at TCDM in Summer of 2020.

After getting married, Sara and Dovi moved to Kew Gardens Hills, where they lived for 4 years. They are very excited to join the Fair Lawn community along with their two children.

Both Sara and Dovi have valuable experience with youth programming. Sara has previously been a youth leader in Congregation Beth Abraham in Teaneck. Dovi was an NCSY advisor for three years, where he worked to help plan programming in the Queens chapter. They look forward to using their previous experience to further develop the youth department’s great programming.
