Young Families
Young Families
Over the past several years, Fair Lawn has seen tremendous growth in the number of young families moving to the community and joining the Shomrei Torah family.
Having convenient public transportation to Manhattan, beautiful and affordably priced apartments and houses, and many resources for young families, Fair Lawn is a great place to live. With respected and dynamic Rabbinic leadership, a well earned reputation for warmth and inclusion, and great programming for children, young families are choosing to make Shomrei Torah theirs.
To accommodate their needs, Shomrei Torah proudly holds a Young Families minyan on Shabbos morning that is timed to make attendance convenient for young parents, and a satellite minyan on Friday night and Shabbos afternoon hosted in the apartments. There are Shabbos groups for children, and a ‘Mommy & Me’ room to allow parents with the smallest children to have a comfortable place.
Fair Lawn welcomes you to join its warm, friendly, Torah environment and invites you to come spend Shabbos with us.

Monday, Jan 25th 8:00p to 9:00p
Save the Date: Monday night, January 25 at 8:00 pm for a pre-Tu B'Shvat Zoom Seder hosted by Shomrei Torah and Grow Torah. Join us as we discover the four seasons and sample the fruits of Israel while learning about their mystical and hidden meanings. Watch your emails for a flyer and a list of fruits to purchase and sample during this interactive presentation. While the program is geared towards adults, families are welcome and encouraged to join. You don't need any or all of the fruits to participate. Grow Torah develops educational Torah garden programs for Jewish schools and communal organizations. They help participants explore relevant Jewish values and Torah lessons. They currently partner with a number of our local schools including Ben Porat Yosef, Yavneh Academy, The Frisch School, Maayanot, Sinai and more. For more information and sponsorship opportunities contact Danny Pickett at president@shomrei-torah.org or Deena Jarashow, dj7622@aol.com. -
