Rabbi Reuven Brand is a member of the Bella and Harry Wexner Kollel Elyon at Yeshiva University, where he received Smicha from RIETS and studied under Rav Hershel Schachter. He holds a Master's degree in Jewish Education from the Azrieli Graduate School of Education and Administration and a B.A. in history from Yeshiva College. He studied in Israel at Yeshivat Kerem B'Yavneh and Yeshiva University's Gruss Kollel. Rabbi Brand is a founder of Lman Achai, a student organization dedicated to feeding the hungry in Israel. He has served as Scholar-in-Residence and directed educational programs in communities across the United States and abroad. He has also worked extensively with youth in informal educational settings at various youth organizations and schools. His wife, Nechama, is currently in her senior year at the New Jersey Dental School. They have two sons, Chaim, 3, and Ilan, 9 months.

Rabbi Brand began serving as Shomrei Torah's Interim Rabbinic Assistant in August of 2007.
