An Evening of Torah, Dinner and Chesed

Monday, February 16, 2015 27 Shevat 5775

6:45 PM - 9:15 PMShomrei Torah

The Torah: Rabbi Mordechai Willig will speak about ''What I Did vs. What I Am" and Rabbi Dr. Abraham Twerski will speak about ''Middle Age and Beyond.''

The Dinner: A delicious smorgasbord will be served, ranging from sushi to hot dogs and more!

The Chesed: A tribute to Dr. Ira Cochin on his new book, Tales of the Holocaust: The Complete Story of Philip Gringiul, The Life of a Holocaust Victim.

Dr. Ira Cochin received his doctorate from Cooper Union and then taught engineering for thirty-six years at the New Jersey Institute of Technology.  Although anybody can teach with sight and hearing, Doc Cochin taught while legally blind and deaf.  In this state he authored many books and has been incredibly creative for himself as well as for others.  He invented a mechanism that was used by a Holocaust survivor who was unable to communicate.  This apparatus enabled the Holocaust survivor to communicate by typing with his feet.

Come and meet this extraordinary person and be inspired by this ninety year old "Miracle Man."

The event will be held at Congregation Shomrei Torah on Monday, February 16 (Presidents' Day) at 6:45 PM.
